Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the importance and the policy followed by the ECB (European Central Bank) in dealing with the international financial crisis. Extensive reference is made both to the establishment, structure, operation and objectives of the ECB as well as to the way the crisis was dealt with and of course the policy implemented. Since the limits of the work does not have a thorough analysis, the causes that contributed to the emergence of the crisis are examined, as well as its consequences in the world economy.
