Abstract

One of the key quality factors of distance education is the design and quality of educational material. The quality of the educational material and the degree to which it interacts with learners depends on factors such as the learning theories that will be developed, the teaching and learning principles chosen, the categorization of West-Lionarakis as a format and media choice navigator, the basic principles of planning, as well as the objectives of planning and evaluation. The purpose of this study is to design, develop and evaluate interactive educational materials, in accordance with the principles and framework of distance education, to train teachers in the "ODYSSEAS" program. Initially, the basic principles of adult learners education, their common characteristics and the conditions for effective learning are outlined, which are the first step in achieving the creation of a digital educational material for adult learners. Next, the basic principles of distance learning curriculum design are emphasized by those who decide to design and develop learning materials specifically for distance education. It also emphasizes the need to design and create a quality 'pedagogical identity' digital material that promotes learning and teaching processes. Even the need to adopt an educational model-creation model is confirmed, the success of which is no guarantee, as human behavior and learning processes are often unpredictable. In this work, therefore, an attempt is made to present to the digital OS of the program "ODYSSEAS" through selected informational material, designed in such a way as to promote autonomous, self-active and discovery learning.
