Abstract	The aim of the current study was to compare different irradiation techniques in threedimensional conformal radiotherapy, so as to evaluate the optimum technique regarding the local tumor control and sparing of normal tissues. The anatomical structures that were examined were prostate, urinary bladder, brain, parotid gland, breast and stomach. In the first four structures, radiotherapy was administered in two phases. Specific treatment techniques were chosen in each treatment phase, according to the examined anatomical structure. The goal was to find the most appropriate combination of irradiation techniques in the two treatment phases, in point of TCP, NTCP, UTCP and mean dose of each organ-at-risk. In terms of breast and stomach, radiotherapy was administered in one treatment phase. The evaluation of different irradiation techniques in each structure was performed considering the coverage of PTV and mean dose at critical organs. In highly radiosensitive organs the stochastic risk was also estimated. The results of this study showed that the inspection of the optimum combination of irradiation techniques in different treatment phases is necessary to be incorporated in routine clinical practice. In breast, the threedimensional irradiation techniques diminished the deterministic and stochastic risk factors at healthy tissues, comparing to standard irradiation technique in twodimensional conventional radiotherapy. In stomach, the results of this study are encouraging concerning the deterministic side effects at organs-at-risk
