Abstract

The use of technology in education is constantly increasing. In particular, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) with appropriate planning and proper use can make a significant contribution to educational change. Science teaching is one of the best areas for highlighting the potential of new technologies. Therefore, in the context of the postgraduate program "Information Technology in education", at the Department of Primary Education, at the University of Crete, an educational website was developed which is called "Acoustic". The purpose of this application is to be a useful learning tool for teaching this particular module. Then, a research-study was conducted to evaluate the multimedia application by the students of the department to prove whether it would be useful in the educational process. The results of the research can be considered positive, as these people who used the educational application showed better performance than those who were taught the same module without using the software.
