Abstract The aim of this study was to design, implement, and evaluate Educational Material for the Supplementary School Distance Learning of sections 1.1, 1.5, and 2.1 of the school book "Development of Applications in a Programming Environment" for the 3rd grade of General High School, with orientation in economics and informatics. These sections introduce students to the concepts of "Problem" and "Algorithm." The material follows the methodology of Distance Education (Anastasiadis, 2008) and the principles of Mayer's multimedia learning theory (Mayer, 2005). Additionally, the design of the Educational Material was based on the West-Lionarakis model (Lionarakis, 2001), emphasizing in interactivity. Extensive use of ICT tools was made, such as h5p and Doodly platforms for presentations, padlet and wordwall platforms for activities, the plotagon application for digital storytelling content, all of which were hosted on the Chamilo platform. Evaluation was conducted by three specialists of distance learning, three computer science teachers, and three students with an orientation in Economics and Informatics. Different questionnaires, consisting of open-ended questions, were used for data collection for each participant group. Subsequently, a qualitative analysis of the data revealed that the educational material is well-documented in the literature, presents the cognitive content in a simple, understandable, and interactive manner, while simultaneously promoting self-assessment and discovery learning (Spanaka-Lionarakis, 2017). Moreover, it was suggested that there are areas in which the current educational material could be further improved through the use of chat and more digital storytelling.
