Abstract

Creativity is considered one of the most important traits for modern individuals and a crucial ability for preschool students to develop. Additionally, creative leadership is deemed a key factor in improving the educational environment in preschools. The aim of this study is to explore the definition of creativity and creative leadership in preschool education in Greece. Twenty-two public kindergarten principals participated in the research. The results indicated that the principals understand the concept of creativity and its importance for children's learning and development. However, creative leadership is perceived as a combination of pedagogical and teacher leadership both inside and outside the classroom. Despite this understanding, the participants did not feel confident in their ability to take on leadership roles. Ultimately, they hope that leadership will enhance the quality of preschool education, increase cooperation with students, parents, and society.
