Abstract

Through its role, school creates and shapes students' attitudes, values, skills, and behaviors. Its role can be crucial in the matter of health promotion, as school improves and shapes students' habits. The literature review underlines also, the importance of teachers' role. The main purpose of this thesis is to record and categorize the Health Education programs that were implemented during the 2013- 2018 school years. The archives were retrieved from the school's activity repository which is dericted by the Directorate of Secondary Education of Heraklion. This issue was approached both theoretically, according to the relevant literature, and empirically, based on respiratory's records. The review and analysis of the archives show that several actions are being implemented in the region of Heraklion. Most of them focus on nutrition, physical activity and interpersonal relationships. There are no programs listed, related to students' sexual education, sexually transmitted diseases, programs related to diseases such as: AIDS, hepatitis B, Mediterranean anemia, cardiovascular diseases, or intercultural health programs and programs that health is approached through fiction and poetry.
