Abstract Distance education gives the educator the opportunity to teach in a different way compared to what he had been used to in face-to-face teaching. With the advent of pandemic, distance education has also started being used in primary education. At the beginning, school distance education was only asynchronous, allowing educators to opt for the medium they wished to employ in their communication with the students. While, on the second year of the pandemic there was a strict and organized frame of synchronous and asynchronous education, making video conference the only means of synchronous education. The aim of this thesis is the design, creation and implementation of a complete intervention of supplementary school distance education with the use of interactive material in Mathematics and more specifically in Geometry in the four basic geometrical shapes for pupils aged 4-6. The distance education methodology was used for the implementation of the educational material. In addition, learning theories and instructional materials principles proposed by theorists in the field, including Mayer's Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning and the West-Lionarakis model were used. The educational material was created in the H5P digital content creation tool and then integrated into the Chamilo platform. In distance education the educational material plays a significant role and for this reason it was given to seven (7) specialized educators in distance education who participated in the current research. They assessed and rated it through an open-ended questionnaire and subsequently it was given to six (6) pre-school students to interact with it and evaluate it through a semi-structured interview. The results of the research show that the educational material is scientifically documented and bibliographically framed, the subject is presented simply and comprehensibly, adapted to preschool students. It is considered to be interactive and pleasant, enhancing students’ autonomy of studying in a playful way. It meets the conditions of multimedia learning and corresponds to the purpose and the expected learning outcomes.
