Abstract Over the last few years, quantum vision has emerged as a promising interdisciplinary field combining quantum optics with human vision and it has many applications . One of the most important applications is pupilometry, the study of pupil size and reactivity upon various illumination conditions. By studying these effects doctors are able to diagnose numerous neurological traumas and injuries. As of this moment the light stimulus used in pupillometry is a classical light source (lamp or led), with no significant directional properties whatsoever. In our laboratory we had such an experimental device, where we operated a compatible laser beam, kept it as uniform as possible, shaped it spatially through an LCD and directed it to one of our eyes, in order to study the dynamic changes of the pupil in different lighting conditions. We upgraded this device by first studying the properties of the LCD and then changing the way the LCD handles the beam. In addition, with the new device we can also illuminate and record the response of both eyes, which allows us to study various combinations, such as illuminating one eye and seeing how the other responds, or illuminating both eyes and study whether there is any correlation between the two eyes and much more. Thus opening new horizons at the research level of pupillometry and biometric measurements.
