Abstract The aim of this research is to investigate the knowledge and the attitudes of primary school teachers, typical and special education, about Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), also known as Specific Language Impairment (SLI) and more specifically in the aspect of detection and pedagogical treatment. The survey involved 62 primary educators working in the Prefecture of Chania. Data encoding and processing was performed using the IBM SPSS Statistics v. 23. The findings of the research showed that the majority of teachers recognize the basic features of DLD and the appropriate pedagogical strategies to use.
