Abstract

Nowadays, autism disorder is one of the most diagnosed disorder, which provokes the research interest. The basic difficulties, which children with autism face, social, communicative and linguistic. The interventions suggested aim to reduce negative social behaviors and in the integration of children in the social environment. One of the interventions, which is helpful in developing function behaviors in the social field is the social stories. This study aims to research the influence of social stories to a primary student with high-functioning autism. The study focused in developing social skills, evaluating the child in school. A single subject design AB was applied, which consists of a base line phase which evaluates the sample (A) and of a treatment phase (B). For research’s goal, the questionnaire of Educating Evaluation for children with autism in the field of Social Skills recording child’s social skills while participating in class. The two observers were recording the social skills-goals during both phases. In the end, the data were compared, so that any changes in child’s socials skills could be identified. The visual analysis method was employed in order to analyze the data for each participant. The result showed that the social stories improved child’s social skills.
