Abstract

Distance Learning was used to replace traditional teaching at all educational levels during the Covid-19 pandemic. The transition from traditional learning in the classroom to online learning at early ages has raised many challenges and concerns for parents and teachers. The purpose of this study was to investigate the beliefs and attitudes of preschool children’s parents about distance education, as it was applied in preschool education, during the pandemic Covid-19. The study involved 142 preschool children’s parents and more than the half of them, said that their child, during the pandemic, participated in distance education every day and they often attended distance learning with their child. However, the results, in general, show the negative attitudes and beliefs of parents about distance education. The interaction of the children was considered moderate by the parents, who considered that distance education lacks in creating a learning atmosphere and that it is unsuitable for preschool children. They also considered distance education to be ineffective. Finally, the vast majority of parents agreed that they would not wish their child to continue distance education after the Covid-19 pandemic.
