Abstract

Teachers face increased challenges -both in number and in intensity- at school, especially from students with difficulties. Their way of addressing to these difficulties is determinant, as it has impact on students’ functioning and on their psychoemotional balance. This present paper targeted in evaluating a pilot training program addressed to teachers who work with children 0-10 years old for the enhancement of their social and emotional skills, within the European program DREAM Erasmus+ KA2, in which Greece, Italy, France and Spain had participated. The results from the observation and the questionnaires showed that there was an improvement in teachers’ scores regarding the application of practices based on Emotional/Affective Education. Because of the emphasis given the recent years in the area of emotional exchanges at school for the students’ complete development and the teachers’ best achieved functioning, planning, application and evaluation of such programs is proposed in the future, for the enrichment of the scientific knowledge and the professionals’ in Education further training in general.
