Abstract Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders that has stimulated research interest because of its affects on all aspects of child’s life. The basic deficits of children with ADHD, which are mainly related to the difficulty in controlling their impulses, are identified in the field of social interactions. The interventions that are proposed to reduce these difficulties and provide positive conditions for the child’s developmental course should focus on all contexts that are affected by the presence of the symptoms of this disorder. An intervention that has been proved particularly helpful in addressing various negative social behaviors is Social Stories. The purpose of the present study was to examine the effectiveness of Social Stories in relate to the reduction of externalizing behavior problems, internalizing problems, severe attention deficits and intense hyperactivity behaviors at school. An AB single subject design was used for three participants, school-age students, eight and nine years old, with diagnosis of ADHD. This design included a baseline phase (phase A) and a treatment phase (phase B). The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire of Goodman and a Behavior Observation Form based on Achenbach Questionnaire and Behavior Functional Analysis were used in order to record and evaluate participants’ target behaviors during their participation in classroom processes. For each participant was conducted simultaneous and independent recording of the target behaviors by two observers during both phases in order to have reliable results. The data from these two phases were compared and any behavior changes were identified and presented in graphs. The visual analysis method was employed to analyze the data for each participant. Especially, graphs represent the effects of the intervention program using Social Stories for the three students who participated in the study. The results showed that the intervention reduced significantly the disruptive behaviors of all participants-students and factors which reinforced this positive effect of Social Stories were reported.
