Abstract	The primary goal of this work is the development of a methodology for the efficient implementation of image analysis tasks, given the computation and communication requirements of different algorithms, the content-dependent load distribution and representation at each level of image analysis and specific architectural features. As a first step, we describe the basic features of each component. Subsequently we describe a model for selecting the best available parallel implementations using two different parallel machines verify our hypothesis, under certain conditions.
