Abstract In the present Thesis we studied the hydrosilylation of alkynes catalysed by gold nanoparticles supported on TiO2 (Au/TiO2), as well as, the oxidative cycloaddition of 1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane to alkynes. The results are summarized as follows: • Au/TiO2 (1% mol) catalyzes in high yields the regioselective hydrosilylation of terminal alkynes, forming β-Z addition products. Internal alkynes are less reactive or even unreactive. • It is proposed that the addition of hydrosilanes to alkynes proceeds via a modified Crabtree-Ojima catalytic cycle. • For the first time in the literature we observed that Au/TiO2 (0.2-1% mol) catalyzes the fast oxidative cycloaddition of 1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane to alkynes with H2 elimination.
