Abstract This thesis will study, synthesize and characterize nickel oxide (NiO) and enriched nickel oxide for application in photovoltaic devices and devices. In particular, a more in-depth analysis of the HTL and ETL terms of photovoltaic conductivity will be provided, giving more accurate and precise definitions of these concepts. In addition, the layout and layers of a photovoltaic will be analyzed and some specific applications will be mentioned. Hereinafter, we will refer to the synthesis techniques, which are the sol-gel technique and the creation of nanoparticles. This is followed by an introduction to the main topic of this thesis, detailing and analyzing in detail the experimental techniques for analyzing the compositions performed and the experimental procedure followed by the synthesis of NiO and enriched NiO. At the same time we refer to the results obtained with the help of experimental techniques and their analysis. Finally, the conclusions drawn from this research and the bibliography used are as follows.
