Abstract The purpose of this work is to investigate and thus provide answers on the role and position of Greek women in the Hungarian People's Republic, in one of the many Eastern European countries that welcomed Greek refugees after the civil war (1948-1949). Initially, it was considered appropriate to give a brief description in the historical context of the Greek civil war, while the reference to the assistance and contribution of women could not be received, since they fought in the mountains as true fighters. Then there is talk of 'paedo-sex' or 'child-life'. This is the first expatriation of children and women to the countries of Eastern Europe. One of these countries is the Hungarian People's Republic, which welcomed thousands of children, both women and men. For this reason, the case of the women of the Greek village "Belogiannis", the village created by the same Greeks, for whom Hungary became their second homeland, is being studied. The answer to the research questions was based on three levels of research. These are: the word of official-dominant memory, the word of the media of the time and finally the reason of the experienced perspective of women, through the biographical method. Analysis of the research data has shown that the woman in the Hungarian Democratic Republic is a class subject, with additional production duties, is not paid for by gender discrimination and has rights to work and education. In short, the female role model comes closer to the "male", but this does not mean that it is discharged from the "female" obligations, such as those of the mother, wife and housewife.
