Abstract The purpose of this Master’s thesis is todesign and fabricate reflective axicons by applying 3D printing methods. 3D printing techniquesprovidean alternative method for fabricating composite structures that control the flow of electromagnetic field. Due to their relative low cost and their scale size of 0.1mm or lower, we can use such structures for THz applications. The first part of this thesis is related to the design of optical elements using a CAD software. In particular, we study the behavior of polylactic acid as is the main material of our structures. The second and main part of the thesis,is devoted tothe fabrication of such reflective axicons by applying 3D printing methods. After the fabrication by 3D printing techniques, a series of experiments will take place in order to compare the fabricated by 3D printer reflective axicon to a commercial reflective axicon.
