Abstract |
This dissertation has the purpose to point out the philosophical thought and the argumentation used by the political philosophers Georg Lukács and Ernesto Laclau, in order to manifest how a new political identity can emerge. On the surface, it seems as two totally different theories, but a deeper study can feature common springboards and similar concerns about an identity who tries to find an energetic role in the political facts that determine its life.
Lukács writes from 1902 since his death, 1971. His philosophical early history starts in Haidelbergian School, near the neokantian philosophers Rickert and Lask. He is also influenced from the movement of life’s philosophy and sociology of Weber, and after his access to the communist party from Hegel’s dialectic and Marx’s historical materialism. Laclau writes from the early seventies since his death, 2014. He is influenced from Gramsci’s theory of hegemony, Saussure’s semiotics, Foucault’s thought, Derrida’s theory of deconstruction and first and mostly from Lacan’s psychoanalysis.
In the first two parts of this dissertation are analyzed the concepts of these two philosophers in respect to the political subjects, as they are resulted from their basic writings. In the third part are manifested the common points and the differences of their theories. It is organized in four units: a) The philosophical problem of subjectivity’s-objectivity’s dualism and the forms of identities, b) the ontological and ontic place where these theories take place and the issue of historicity, c) issues of ethics and d) how Lukács and Laclau refer to the terms of myth, fantasy and contingency.
