Abstract More than three decades ago Berry and Balazs proposed theoretically that the Schrodinger equation describing a free particle admits a nonspreading Airy wave packet solution. This Airy packet corresponds to a family of orbits represented by a parabola. Although the most exotic feature of this Airy packet sparked the idea behind this thesis; to copropagate signal pulse along with an accelerating Airy (control) pulse. Our goal was to show that depending on Airy0 s parameters we can control the evolution of the spectrum and the temporal location of the signal pulse. So by properly assuming an Airy pulse we can accelerate or decelerate a signal pulse while we can manipulate the signal pulse to follow Airy0 s parabolic trajectory. The corresponding simulations both in the real and in the spectral space were discussed.
