Title Dynamics of topological magnetic solitons

Abstract We study the dynamics of topological magnetic solitons in ferromagnets (FM) and antiferromagnets (AFM). A realistic magnetic bubble is numerically calculated in a FM film. Then its dynamics is studied, particularly the skew deflection in an external field gradient. For the AFM we give a detailed derivation of the nonlinear σ-model known to describe the AFM continuum. Then we study the dynamics of one or a pair of vortices. Two vortices are found to scatter at right angles, but the presence of a uniform external magnetic field affects the dynamics profoundly. As isolated vortex is pinned, while relevant motion is possible only in the presence of other vortices. Finally a topological change relevant to the dynamics is given.
