Abstract	This work attempts to study how current Greek law manages recent kinship-creating transformations, mainly maternity and paternity, and how it integrates and captures them in its articles. Kinship, created through processes that have characteristics of contract agreement and lack biological ties, is based on socio-emotional relationships. In this case, the reason for establishing kinship is the desire to have children. Provided all the conditions of the law are followed, kinship is established as if reproduction had occurred. In the case of adoption, the existence of socio-emotional relationships was already known. However, in recent years assisted reproduction technologies opened-up new prospects, with the participation of third parties in the reproductive process, thus setting it more actively in the foreground. The biological truth ceases to be the sole factor for establishing legal kinship, and priority is given to the will of the persons wishing to become parents.
