Abstract It is widely accepted that socialization and adaptation are quite important features for every student, especially for those who attend elementary school, since they are in the process of developing their personality. Social competence contributes to the students' communication through their language either spoken or written speech, but is not always an easy affair between individuals. It is particularly difficult, when it comes to pupils with hearing problems, since hearing is considered to be one of the most basic human senses. The aim of this study is to examine the social skills of deaf / hearing loss students and to investigate the extent to which these students can develop interpersonal relationships with their listening classmates. This view is examined indirectly through the assessments of the students' teachers and the basic prerequisite is that the student attends a General Elementary School. Data collection is selected through a questionnaire, which it is used to be completed by the students' teachers and consists of Likert closed-type 5-degree scale questions. From the results of this research, which are analyzed at the level of descriptive and inductive statistics, it is worth mentioning that factors such as sex, age and severity level of the disorder do not affect the degree of socialization of children with hearing impairment, nor is there any difference in development of their social skills both during the course and during the break.
