Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to study the application of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in large companies in Europe. Particular emphasis will be placed on implementing this strategy in the post-crisis period. Those companies will be identified that really manage to date with the Social Responsibility that they have towards their external and internal environment. The structure of the work consists of five chapters. The first chapter includes the history of Corporate Social Responsibility. The second chapter approaches this concept in relation to its adoption in the various countries of Europe. In particular, this chapter examines the events following the financial crisis. The third chapter gives the legal framework in force in the European Union. The fourth chapter lists the 10 largest companies in Europe and how they incorporate Corporate Social Responsibility into their strategies. The fifth and final chapter assesses the situation and future prospects for companies. The work ends with the necessary conclusions and the epilogue.
