Abstract Aim: This study is part of the RESTORE international monitoring study (2011-2015) and looks at the long-term impact of the project aimed at improving communication with migrants. In particular, the study will attempt to investigate whether the changes that the program has brought into practice have been maintained and whether there are other results that need to be addressed and discussed. Methods: A study of qualitative methods of analysis using Participatory Learning Action (PLA) techniques with focus group groups, as well as individual interviews. Focus groups have been conducted in the host country, according to RESTORE. The study population consisted of immigrants, general/family doctors, nurses, interpreters, and representatives of health care providers. It was held at the Municipal Social Clinic - 4th TOMY of Heraklion, Crete. It is worth noting that the analysis was translated and recorded for comparative analysis using a standard English language standard. Results: The reputation of community organizations changed and influenced other collaborations only in a local context. The sense of empowerment and confidence of community members has changed. The appreciation of community members for the value of research and evaluation has changed. Healthcare providers and staff have used newly acquired research skills to work to provide services to their community. The ability of clinicians to think critically and discuss their work has changed openly. Migrants' confidence in diagnosis and treatment by the general practitioner has improved. Relations between community stakeholders, healthcare and researchers have changed. Community, healthcare and research stakeholders reported changes in responding to the methodology of action research and the desire for more. The RESTORE program has led to new relevant collaborations with other researchers and community groups. Finally, researchers are changing their research approach: their willingness to think and share ideas with others. Conclusion: Few changes have been made to the day-to-day practice of RESTORE, particularly in the field of research and cooperation between the players and the confidence of immigrants towards the general practitioner.
